Welcome to a wildlife enthusiast's idea of paradise. A pristine rainforest, home to over 500 species of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians, the Danum Valley Conservation Area never disappoints. Come join scientists who have been studying this 438 sq.km. reserve for decades and uncover the secrets of the jungle. Walk through the forest looking for organgutans, red-leaf langurs, gibbons, and hornbills. Head out at night to search for the rare and elusive Bornean Clouded Leopard and the Western Tarsier. Feel the power of nature as you walk beneath trees that tower 100 meters over the ground. Join us and discover the best that Borneo has to offer.

Your Wild Itinerary:

 

Day 1: Arrival at Danum Valley

​

  • Arrive at Lahad Datu Airport excited about the next week. Our services start here and will conclude once we drop you off at the end of this journey.

  • Arrive at INFAPRO about two hours later to register, check-in and receive an introduction and safety briefing from your guide followed by lunch

  • Relax for a bit and at 3pm, head out for a safari drive to Danum Valley Field Centre. Stay alert and try and spot wildlife during your drive.

  • Explore the trails with your guide and return to INFAPRO for dinner by 6pm.

  • After dinner, leave for a night drive at 8pm.

  • Return by 9pm and turn in for the night

Day 2 - Day 6: Explore Danum Valley

​

  • Wake up early for a 6 a.m. departure to Danum Valley Field Centre

  • Spot wildlife on the drive and on walks around DVFC

  • Take a mid-morning break for breakfast

  • Continue exploration of the rainforest for birds, orangutans, red leaf langurs, hornbills, and more,

  • Return to INFAPRO at 11 a.m.

  • Break for lunch at noon and relax until 3 p.m.

  • Leave for DVFC on a safari drive, followed by an afternoon trek 

  • Finish with a cool swim in the river if you like

  • Head out at 6:30 p.m. for a night walk to try and spot nocturnal wildlife

  • Leave DVFC at 7:30 p.m. for a slow drive back to INFAPRO for dinner

  • Head out for a night drive from 10 p.m. - 2 a.m. for a 'Cats and Nocturnal Mammals Search' 

  • Keep your eyes peeled for tarsiers, slow loris, Bornean Cloud Leopard and more

Day 7: Departure

​

  • Leave at 6 a.m. to spend the morning at DVFC 

  • Trek and search for wildlife and return mid-morning for breakfast

  • Relax until check-out

  • Say goodbye to this magical forest as you're transferred to Lahad Datu airport at noon
